SF-100 Voter Registration Website Crash

The crash of Florida’s online voter registration website Monday, the deadline for registration, may symbolize our current confusing times. Previously, the site seemed the perfect use of technology to overcome an important and urgent challenge.  Unfortunately, Monday it reflected seriously flawed technological infrastructure and capacity.  If truly the result of potentially unprecedented voter turnout and fixable, we might still glimpse a ray of hope. That some feared it intentional sabotage may, however, demonstrate just how hopeless things really are. Still, extending the deadline to Tuesday may prove an intelligent example of the flexibility that these chaotic times demand. Here’s hoping.
